Kathleen Anderson

Kathleen Anderson (TEP) is our Special Counsel in the Dispute Resolution team.  After playing key roles in the Dispute Resolution & Litigation Groups at Middletons and K&L Gates, Kathleen joined Plastiras Lawyers in 2013.

Kathleen specialises in helping SMEs prevent and resolve disputes arising in their day-to-day business, including contract breaches, partnership disagreements, debt disputes, recovery proceedings and negligence claims.  Another key focus area for Kathleen is preventing and resolving restraint of trade disputes between employers and ex-employees.

Kathleen has particular expertise in contested deceased estates, involving disputes relating to: making and responding to applications for further and better provision from an estate; contested probate applications including as to the existence or validity of a final will; appointment of administrators and allegations of executor inaction or misconduct and a range of other succession law disputes. She also deals with appointing and revoking powers of attorney and elder abuse issues. Kathleen is a full member of STEP (a global professional organisation for expert members specialising in estate and trust law).

Kathleen has also worked across a variety of property dispute matters including: termination of leases; damages claims for landlords and tenants; resolving disagreements between property co-owners through negotiation and court-appointed trustees; resolving disputes over caveats, encroachments, and easements.

Kathleen is experienced in acting for businesses and individuals who have fallen victim to cyber security fraud and lost funds due to cyber security breaches, including investigating the source of the breach, working with IT experts to gather evidence, and making claims against the negligent party.
