Kathleen Anderson

Kathleen Anderson is our Special Counsel in the Dispute Resolution team.  After playing key roles in the Dispute Resolution & Litigation Groups at Middletons and K&L Gates, Kathleen has 15 years’ experience in commercial litigation.

Kathleen has particular experience in:

• assisting SMEs to prevent and resolve disputes arising in their day-to-day business, including contract breaches, partnership disagreements, debt disputes, recovery proceedings and negligence claims;
• equitable interest claims;
• restraint of trade disputes between employers and ex-employees;
• disputes between franchisors and franchisees;
• a variety of property dispute matters including termination of leases; damages claims by landlords and tenants; disagreements between property co-owners; court-appointed trustees; caveats; encroachments and easements; contentious lease negotiations.

Kathleen was a full TEP member of STEP (a global professional organisation for expert members specialising in estate and trust law) in 2023-2024, and also practices in estate planning and estate litigation including:

• preparation of wills and providing advice to testators where a claim on their estate is possible;
• making and responding to applications for further and better provision from an estate;
• contested probate applications including as to the existence or validity of a final will;
• appointment of administrators and allegations of executor inaction or misconduct;
• misuse of powers of attorney;
• a range of other succession law disputes including contentious estate administration issues.
