Ben Sindel is a Consultant and leads the Dispute Resolution team. Ben joined Plastiras Lawyers in 2012 and has over 25 years of legal expertise, including as a partner at one of Australia’s leading top tier firms, DLA Piper.
Ben predominantly advises SMEs on all areas of business disputes, risk management and commercial litigation. These include corporate governance, risk assessments, director and shareholder disputes, corporate contractual disputes, ACL compliance issues, intellectual property disputes, employment and confidential information misuse claims, franchising disputes and insolvency issues.
Resolving disputes for private clients is another area of Ben’s expertise. These matters include consumer protection, insurance advice and litigation, employment advice and personal insolvency issues.
Ben also advises on a range of property matters and large contractual claims relating to residential and commercial construction disputes for both builders and property owners, commercial and residential contract breaches by buyers and sellers, lease breaches by tenants and landlords and multi- million-dollar joint venture disputes and fiduciary duties matters.
Ben is a strong proponent of early intervention and cost-conscious mediation of business and commercial disputes. He has extensive training and experience in negotiation, mediation and alternative dispute resolution and has been recognised for this in the ‘Australian Best Lawyers’ list since 2017. He is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator.
Ben has undertaken post-graduate study at FINSIA in the areas of financial markets and economics and is a graduate of the Harvard Negotiation Institute and QUT’s National Commercial Mediation Course.
